What transpired was like an Oompa-Loompa experiment gone terribly wrong and a Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory explosion all in one.
Chocolate syrup was all over the inside of my shower, dripping off of me, running down the drain...
(Although, I have to say-it smelled HEAVENLY in there!!!)
However, I can't say that it did one-single-thing to improve the appearance of my hair.
It was just very hard to rinse out, and then I had the entire shower to hose down.
In a nutshell (chocolate coated of course) I don't recommend this particular beauty treatment.
Aren't you glad you have me?!?!
hahahahaha!!!!
p.s. I could totally see adding this to your bath with some epsom salts and soaking in chocolate deliciousness, however. Just be certain to have some chocolate on hand... because you WILL start to crave it!! ;-)
5 friends have said...:
too bad it didn't work, but enjoying the chocolate scent would have been heavenly!! I would LOVE to have a candy store like the one in Charlie and the Chocolate factory's original movie!!
mmmmmmm! Sounds yummy but messy. How about this recipe I just found:
Coconut Hair Rinse
1/2 cup fresh coarsely grated coconut meat
1/2 cup fresh coconut milk
2 teaspoons honey
1 fresh vanilla bean, cut into small pieces (grind in a coffee grinder)
Mix, apply, wait 10 minutes and rinse! Let me know if you try this and like it!
OMG Gina I have SO many hair recipes I could share with you... all kinds of craziness to give you shiny, healthy locks! I don't even know where to start LOL. I have loads of recipes for herbal rinses to enhance your natural color, hot oil treatments, I even have a recipe for... crap I can't remember what it's called now LOL but some concoction you mix up that's powdery and you use it to clean your hair so you don't need to actually wash with shampoo or conditioner as often. I'll have to find that one again, no idea where I put it...
I just tried a brown sugar scalp scrub for the first time today and ohhhhh I love it already! I'd read about it years ago but never did bother to try it till today and I have to wonder why I didn't try it sooner! Just take a bowl of brown sugar in with you when you shower but don't let it get wet or anything; wet your hair down really well then working quickly mix the sugar with some conditioner (about equal parts brown sugar and conditioner; I used a bit more sugar than conditioner) and then massage that on your scalp for a few minutes, rinse and wash/condition as usual. You have to work quickly because the sugar dissolves into the conditioner pretty quick; it helps to turn the water off and flip your hair upside down too, so you can get to all areas of your scalp easier. Not only does it get your scalp nice and clean but it feels goooood! lol
I've heard it recommended to do an apple cider vinegar rinse after the scrub too (about 1 part ACV to 3 or 4 parts water; that varies from person to person though, rinse with water first then rinse with the ACV dilution when you're totally done just before getting out of the shower and you don't rinse again after the ACV) but I figured I'd try without that first just to see how my hair/scalp feel after the scrub. Loving it!
I think I'm going to have to make some new hair care posts soon....
Yes Gina, I'm glad to have you to try this stuff. I loved reading about the experience and am glad you tried it first!
I'm glad George is doing well. So now that you've changed your diet and such are YOU feeling better too? It would seem to me that you'd have to feel great getting rid of preservatives and the chemicals in the food.
I forgot to tell you, have a Happy Thanksgiving!
